Talk about original pieces, these are it!.  Two different sized vintage cheese boxes that have been preserved and embellished.  They have that wonderful wood smell.  Each is varnished, trimmed in green and then hand painted with the lovely flowers that you see. Covers are plain (varnished only).  These are sturdy with some weight to them.  One has writing on the back in that special black pencil that you may have seen--obviously done when it was at the cheese factory.  Both are in very good vintage condition.
